If you are excited about what we do at Gleeson and are looking for a new challenge, we have a great opportunity for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join our Construction team. You will work with external partners and subcontractors while collaborating with our onsite Sales team. To be considered, you will share our Gleeson values of being Passionate, Collaborative and Respectful and have previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager on high‑volume new‑build housing developments.
Main Responsibilities
We’re looking for proactive people who genuinely believe in what we’re doing—building homes, changing lives. As a collaborative leader, you will positively influence teams, communicate strongly across departments, and reinforce directions set out by the Site and Contracts Manager to deliver projects safely and on schedule.
The Role Includes
* Ensuring the safe running of the site, reinforcing the Home Safe procedures, maintaining a keen eye for detail and proactively ensuring compliance.
* Supporting the management of onsite construction and customer‑care responsibilities.
* Managing compliance, control and deployment of construction and onsite customer‑care activities as per company policies, and managing defects post‑completion in a timely manner to deliver 5* customer satisfaction results.
* Liaising with all stakeholders and suppliers, both internal and external.
* Maintaining and establishing relationships with local communities, engaging and working with them to further the Gleeson model.
* Using Zutec and Digital Plot Books.
The Ideal Candidate
* CSCS card as a minimum.
* NVQ Level 4 Construction Site Supervision or equivalent construction‑related NVQ, currently working towards or having achieved a Pass or Distinction.
* SMSTS card holder.
* First Aid at Work certification.
* Scaffold – CISRS certification.
* Good knowledge of construction methods and processes.
* Good awareness of codes of practice that impact construction matters (e.g., NHBC, Building Regulations).
* Experience working within the housebuilding industry.
* Previous experience in an Assistant Site Manager or Site Supervisor role preferred.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Prepare evidence of qualifications for the interview stage.
