The Role
Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools are currently recruiting for a Teacher Assistant (P4 - 7) and Bus Club Assistant to join The Junior School on a temporary basis from 14 August 2025 (subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks) for one academic session until June 2026. This is a fulltime, term time only role, working 37.5 hours per week. As this is a full time, term time only role the pro rata salary range is £20,604 - £21,212 per annum (based on qualifications and experience). The role is based at The ESMS Junior School at Queensferry Road.
The purpose of the role is to support the teaching staff within the classroom and with administration and supervises children in the playground. The Teacher Assistant also supervises and registers children at 420 Bus Club and liaises with the Transport Department to locate any missing children, ensuring their safe boarding of the correct buses.
The successful candidate will have experience working with children, excellent organisational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience in a school setting and supporting events is desirable, along with a positive, proactive attitude and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
