At Protective Care Group, we don't just provide care, we offer a premium, personalised service that transforms the lives of children who have experienced significant trauma. We're currently looking for two new Support Workers to join a dedicated team working with an 11 year old boy in Horsham. He’s bright, curious, full of energy, and has already made huge progress.
You’ll be joining a small, supportive team that’s focused entirely on one young person. Your job is to build trust, create fun, safe routines, and help him manage life’s ups and downs with confidence and care.
He’s 11, so he needs people who can play football, go on adventures, positively encourage his progress, or just sit and listen when he’s had a tough day. There will be challenges, but this young person has already come such a long way and with the right team around him, he can keep thriving.
Requirements
Our young person needs their team to:
* Be the steady presence they can turn to for guidance, coaching, and mentorship, even when they push boundaries. (Which they will!)
* Show them that no matter how challenging their behaviour gets, you’ll never give up on them. Expect to face physical aggression, verbal aggression, absconding, self-harm, and sexualised behaviours. But let’s not forget the incredible progress some of our most challenging young people have made, have a look at our case studies to find out more https://protective-care.co.uk/portfolio_category/young-people/
What we’re looking for in you:
We believe that the right people are what make us truly special, and we want individuals who have a genuine intention to change the lives of young people. Whether or not you have previous experience in care, we are looking for individuals who possess the following qualities:
* Great with children: You can connect, listen, play, and create calm when things feel tough.
* Reliable and calm: You’ll be a steady adult presence when he needs it most.
* Patient and caring: You’ll stick with him through challenges and believe in his potential.
* Fun and active: He’s an 11 year old boy, so bring your energy!
* Able to drive: You’ll need a full UK manual driving licence, as he loves trips out and about.
* Resilient and flexible: This role includes a mix of shifts (days, nights, and sleep-ins).
It’s important that you understand all aspects of the role before of applying, like the working hours, possible working locations and the types of challenges you may encounter. Please follow this link to find out more: https://protective-care.co.uk/careers/careers-faqs
We strive for excellence and actively seek to develop the potential of every young person and staff member. Here’s what you’ll enjoy when you come on board:
* A competitive salary of £32,000, plus shift uplifts and sleep-in pay.
* Paid leave, sick pay, and a company pension to support your wellbeing.
* Comprehensive training and clear career progression pathways, including fully funded industry-recognised qualifications. We believe in developing not only our young people but also our staff.
* Wellbeing support, including access to confidential counselling services.
* A supportive and positive culture that celebrates your successes, with regular supervisions and quarterly nomination schemes.
