Day in the life
What does a role as a Summer Student with Miller Maintenance look like? It is a role for someone who enjoys working outdoors in nature, likes to engage in physical activity, and looks forward to the chance for every day to be a little different than the day before! Miller Maintenance provides highway maintenance for the Ministry of Transportation on provincial highways. We are responsible for everything along the highway from the fence line in and keeping the motoring public safe! This is a crucial role because if we don’t do what we do, then traffic can’t go anywhere! As a summer student, you will support our full-time crews and help complete tasks such as traffic control during accidents, cutting grass and weed whipping behind guiderails, inspecting culverts, and installing signs along the highway.
You may also be tasked with repairing guiderails, helping patch potholes, or picking litter to keep our highways clean and attractive.
