Job Description

As Corporate Security Senior Advisor, you’ll work in a small team responsible for providing assurance that we’re addressing security risks and fostering a positive security culture. You will serve as a role model for security, promoting good behaviors and contributing to the protection of our people, data, information, and physical assets.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Corporate Security Manager in overseeing and mitigating security risks.
* Provide leadership on assessing and managing security risks, including retained responsibilities.
* Collaborate with risk owners across the organization to understand, assess, and mitigate risks.
* Ensure assurance to the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO), EA Board, and Executive Directors.
* Partner with Defra group Security to develop security strategies, policies, and processes.
* Lead initiatives to improve security culture through training, communication, and engagement.
* Manage governance meetings related to security decisions.
* Maintain professional networks to stay updated on security developments.

The Team
You will be part of a small, welcoming team within the Corporate Management, Assurance, and Security group, focused on organizational resilience and effectiveness. You will have access to professional security advice from Defra group Security and collaborate with subject matter experts in the Environment Agency.
Experience and Skills
While you do not need to be a security professional, the following skills and experience are essential:
* Understanding of external security influences and a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Proven leadership skills to achieve outcomes, foster partnerships, influence, and inspire.
* Ability to build effective partnerships within Defra and the Environment Agency for risk management.
* Experience working with senior stakeholders, managing priorities, and handling multiple demands.
* Experience in inspiring cultural change, stakeholder management, communications, engagement, and implementing business change is advantageous.
Additional Information
All new hires must undertake training and participate in incident response duties as needed. This is a hybrid role, primarily based at your nearest location in England, with some national travel. An informal session will be held on Wednesday, 21st May, 12:30-13:30. Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing 16th June 2025.
