This Learning Support Assistant role in Hillingdon offers a unique opportunity to work closely with boys and girls who face significant social, emotional, and behavioural challenges, while helping them raise academic attainment, improve emotional regulation, and develop positive pathways for the future.

The schools and alternative provisions you will work within use restorative, trauma-informed, and relationship-led approaches to help students reconnect with education and rebuild trust in adults and institutions. You will become part of a multi-disciplinary team committed to protecting vulnerable young people and improving long-term outcomes.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
8. Support vulnerable students on a 1:1 and small-group basis
9. Help improve attendance, engagement, emotional regulation, and academic attainment
10. Build strong professional relationships with pupils who may be hard to reach or distrustful of authority
11. Support young people through structured interventions focused on behaviour, wellbeing, and aspiration
12. Encourage participation in cooking, sport, creative arts, and enrichment activities that build confidence and life skills
13. Help students develop healthier coping strategies, resilience, and positive routines
14. Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, safeguarding leads, therapists, and external agencies
15. Observe and learn behaviour management, de-escalation, restorative practice, and safeguarding strategies used within specialist education settings
