We have an exciting opportunity to join Durham Music Service as a casual pool instrumental teacher and deliver high quality and exciting music tuition to children!
We welcome applications from all disciplines, but we are especially interested in Guitar, Drum and Woodwind teachers at this time.
As an instrumental teacher, you will be involved in delivering both whole class ‘First Access’ programmes and small group tuition. The job involves travel across County Durham/Darlington Borough and candidates must be able to meet this provision.
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
Durham Music Service provides lessons across a range of instruments and singing (whole class and small groups) from Early Years to 6th Form. You can find out more about our work at .
The service is committed to safeguarding children. You will need to demonstrate a commitment to the welfare and safety of children and young people.
As a cover teacher, you will provide temporary cover for absent members of Durham Music Service teaching staff by planning and delivering instrumental and/or vocal lessons to groups of young people. You could get involved in assisting or leading Durham Music Service ensembles and developing new and current programmes to meet the requirements of the schools and the Music Education Hub.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
* You must have a recognised music performance qualification (Grade 8 or equivalent – please ask if you are not sure) on your principal instrument or voice.
* A commitment to excellent teaching, although we welcome applications from early career teachers.
