Senior Web Developer
Basingstoke – 12 days per month working from home (flexible usage)
Inside IR35 – PAYE set up only
Initial 12 Month Contract
A Senior Web Developer is required on an initial 12 month contract basis to be based in Basingstoke on a PAYE contract basis. The successful candidate will have the flexibility to work from home 12 days per month which you can use as you wish.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of the company’s multi-skilled Web Development team as a full stack developer to rebuild and provide ongoing support for all onsite web applications using a new modern framework.
* Design, develop and implement bespoke software solutions.
* Assist clients with requirements analysis.
* Design, manage and integrate databases.
* Interface with other corporate systems where possible.
* Provide end user support, bug fixing, change control.
* Ensure development of updated documentation.
* Contribute to the development of test plans and UAT.
* Deliver training, tutorials and talks.
* Setup and document SQL databases to support web development.
* Evangelise new approaches to software ideas and practices.
* Ensure software is developed in compliance with company ICT policies and procedures.
Cyber Security – Web Apps
* Work with the HQ team in resolving vulnerabilities identified in the cyber security scans from a web app perspective.
* Co‑ordinate the remediation of the identified vulnerabilities in web apps in a timely and structured manner.
* Provide timely ICM response to resolve HQ Global Operation Security Cyber Alerts and coordinate with Infrastructure and Service Desk teams to resolve cyber vulnerabilities where cross‑functional response is needed for web apps.
* Actively participate in improving corporate culture on cyber security awareness.
Candidate Qualifications
Technical Skills and Experiences
* Deep knowledge of JavaScript/JQuery, Java/Groovy.
* Experience with Grails is beneficial.
* Strong command of HTML and CSS.
Working Experience Of The Following
* MS SQL Server databases, including database design.
* IDE tools, preferably IntelliJ.
* Spring and Hibernate.
* Software source control, preferably Git/DevOps.
* Creative, highly motivated, independent and proactive, with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Experience developing web‑based intranet solutions.
* Experience with agile software development tools and practices.
* Strong ability to support the customer in all aspects of product development.
* Strong data collection and business requirements analysis skills.
* Degree level education or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrable experience in application design and development.
