Overview

Head of Communications & Marketing role at Guardian Jobs with a mission aligned to B Lab UK and the global B Corp movement. This opportunity focuses on leading communications, marketing and brand strategies, and building, mentoring and developing teams while reflecting the organisation’s values of trust, inclusiveness, integrity, balance and a long-term commitment to people and the planet.

B Lab UK is part of the global B Corp movement, aiming to redefine success in business by placing social and environmental impact on par with profit. There are over 10,000 B Corps across 102 countries and 160+ sectors.


Responsibilities

* Lead and manage a small, high-performing team, shaping, amplifying and protecting the organisation’s reputation.
* Own and drive the communications strategy, ensuring social media, PR, brand and marketing efforts are aligned to deliver clear, consistent and creatively impactful campaigns.
* Build awareness and understanding of the organisation’s mission across core and stretch audiences, using stories, learning and impact to demonstrate the effectiveness of B Corp Certification and position the organisation as a credible thought leader.
* Oversee all brand and marketing functions, ensuring strategic targeting, effective channel use and cohesive messaging to support organisational goals and influence systemic change.


Requirements / What we’re looking for

* Ability to develop and deliver communications, marketing and brand strategies across multiple platforms.
* Ability to build, mentor and develop teams and bring out the best in everyone.
* Ability to lead proactive and responsive marketing, communications and brand initiatives across all channels—driving growth, engagement and brand recognition through impactful campaigns and projects, and pushing boundaries to raise the bar.
* Expertise in setting up and using KPIs and reporting to monitor and manage the effectiveness of campaigns.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage, enthuse and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
* Strong creative judgment, confident decision-making and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to embrace challenges and bold choices.
* Keen commitment to collaboration and partnerships based on trust and performance.
* Ability to learn our digital platforms (familiarity with G-Suite, Slack and Asana is helpful).
* Optimism and passion about sustainability and how business can be a force for good.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate eligibility to work in the UK (we are not able to provide visa sponsorship).
