Locum Occupational Therapist Community Adult Social Services

Save Share Apply now We are seeking experienced and proactive Occupational Therapists to join our community-based Adult Social Care team in Mid Cornwall, with the flexibility to work across the county alongside two other therapists. This is a vital role focused on delivering face-to-face, person-centred interventions that promote independence and reduce reliance on care packages supporting Cornwall Council’s 2025/26 savings targets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Carry out holistic assessments of adults with complex physical, sensory, and cognitive needs.
2. Develop and implement goal-oriented care plans aimed at promoting independence in the community.
3. Recommend and facilitate the provision of equipment, minor and major adaptations, and assistive technology.
4. Maintain regular face-to-face contact with service users.
5. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, service users, families, and carers.
6. Accurately maintain case records in accordance with legal and professional standards.
7. Actively contribute to safeguarding and risk management processes.
8. Promote and work in accordance with The Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and other relevant legislation.
Requirements:
9. HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
10. Substantial experience in community settings, ideally within Adult Social Care
11. Strong understanding of relevant legislation and the ability to apply clinical reasoning in complex cases
12. Comfortable managing a caseload independently
13. Willing and able to conduct weekly face-to-face visits
14. Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain)
15. UK right to work & relevant Occupational Therapy qualification
