Civil Engineer - Highways, Drainage & Development Infrastructure
Location: Bristol (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 + Benefits
Type: Full-Time | Permanent
As a Civil Engineer, you will support the design and delivery of development infrastructure projects across a range of sectors. You will work closely with planners, architects, external consultants, and approving authorities to deliver high‑quality projects from feasibility to detailed design and approvals.
Responsibilities
* Assist with the design and delivery of highways and drainage infrastructure for development schemes.
* Produce highway designs (S38 / S278) at preliminary and detailed design stages.
* Support the delivery of drainage designs (S104 / S98) including surface water drainage, foul drainage, SuDS design, flow control and attenuation/balancing solutions, and foul pumping stations.
* Assist with earthworks and site‑level design.
* Collaborate with senior engineers and technicians to ensure high‑quality project delivery.
* Produce technical drawings, calculations, and design documentation.
Qualifications
* Experience in civil infrastructure design, ideally within highways and/or drainage.
* Background working on UK development infrastructure projects.
* Good working knowledge of relevant design standards and approval processes.
* Experience using software such as Civil 3D, MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage, Causeway Flow, PDS.
* Experience contributing to designs for residential, commercial or mixed‑use developments.
* BEng / MEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent relevant experience).
* Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and develop within a team environment.
