Position: Team Leader - Residential Children's Home
Location: Headsnook, Brampton (and other locations in Carlisle)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Entry level: £X, with potential to earn up to £Y in sleep-in shifts. Experienced salary: £A, with potential to earn up to £B in sleep-in shifts.
Hours: Hours per week, shift pattern on rotation
We are seeking an experienced Residential Team Leader to join our services based in Carlisle.
North Lakes Children’s Services provides therapeutic residential care and education for boys aged X-Y. We focus on improving resilience, self-esteem, and abilities of young people.
The role involves creating a caring, therapeutic, learning environment, applying high standards of care and support for young people's social, emotional, behavioral needs, mental health, and learning difficulties.

* Ready to supervise and support a small team’s professional development?
* Willing and capable to lead shifts and make decisions aligned with care plans?
* Knowledgeable in therapeutic interventions and experienced as a key worker?
* Able to deputize for the Registered Manager during holidays?
Main duties:
* Support and advise staff; manage daily team operations.
* Support and deputize for the deputy manager when needed.
* Conduct supervisions and support key workers.
* Manage activity funds.
* Oversee daily needs of children.
* Monitor staff duties.
* Participate in sleep-in duties as required.
* Develop programs to enhance children's progress and interaction.
* Link study programs with recognized vocational qualifications.
* Work with young people in a caring, trusting manner.
* Support peer relationships and promote resilience and empathy.
* Encourage participation in educational, recreational, occupational, and social activities.
* Collaborate as part of a team, supporting colleagues and children.
* Work independently within risk assessments, care plans, and behavioral plans to meet therapeutic goals.
* Help children develop independent living and life skills.
* Prepare, implement, and review developmental programs.
* Induct new admissions, making them feel welcome.
* Assist in planning for children’s future, balancing risks and opportunities.
* Help children recognize and manage emotions.
* Use developmentally appropriate interventions for emotional regulation.
* Recognize vulnerabilities and behavioral choices.
* Communicate effectively with outside partners and attend reviews and visits as needed.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations.
* Act as keyworker for some children, supporting their individual plans and emotional well-being.
All applicants must have:
* An understanding of issues facing young people in care.
* Relevant qualifications: Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma, Children and Young People's Workforce, NVQ Level in Health & Social Care, or equivalent.
* Excellent communication and listening skills.
* Willingness to learn.
* Ability to work well in a small team.
* Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check (paid for by us).
* Experience with EBD, social/residential work, or youth work (advantageous).
* A full, clean UK driving license and flexibility to cover other homes as needed.
