Your next role

As the Senior Housing Compliance Manager, you will be the Council's lead officer in managing all aspects of landlord health & safety and statutory property management compliance.

You will be responsible for the Council's compliance with, and submissions to, the Regulator of Social Housing's Safety Standard, you will champion the needs of our customers and drive customer safety as a business priority.

You will strengthen operational resilience and service delivery, establishing robust performance monitoring, contractor management processes, and internal co‑ordination mechanisms to ensure the new compliance policies and processes operate efficiently.

You will be responsible for overseeing the end‑to‑end management of compliance, ensuring policies and procedures are robust and legally compliant, and safeguarding the health and safety of tenants. You will play a critical role in ensuring the Council's housing stock is maintained to a safe and decent standard and in line with legal obligations, regulatory expectations, and tenant satisfaction.

This role plays a critical part in supporting safe, sustainable communities, enhancing resident wellbeing, and shaping service delivery in line with both corporate priorities and statutory duties.

To be an active part of the Housing and Integrated Communities Senior Leadership Teams, and Prevention and Communities Directorate, implementing the Swindon Plan, the Housing Improvement Plan, and supporting the delivery of corporate strategies.

This role works with the Director of Housing and Director of Operations and their Senior Leadership teams to develop new operating processes both within your own operational field and providing support and leadership to others to improve their operational activities.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer‑facing role”).
