Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to support the delivery of Private HV Network and Distribution, BESS, CHP and Renewable energy projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive cost estimates using Extreme Estimation, contributing to successful tenders and profitable project delivery.
Duties
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates for Private HV Networks, BESS, CHP, and renewable energy projects
* Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
* Price HV/LV distribution, Substations, transformers, inverters, switchgear, protection, and control systems
* Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
* Assess commercial and technical risks, including grid connection and commissioning requirements
* Identify value-engineering and cost optimisation opportunities
* Prepare tender documentation, cost breakdowns, and clarifications
* Liaise with clients, consultants, DNOs, suppliers, and internal delivery teams
* Support handover to project and commercial teams following contract award
Qualifications
* Electrical qualification (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND, or equivalent)
* Background in electrical engineering, power systems, or industrial installations preferred
Experience:
* You must have proven experience as a HV 11kV Electrical Estimator within Private HV Networks/Distribution.
* An understanding/experience in battery storage, CHP, renewable energy projects, power generation, grid connection, and energy storage systems although not essential would be a distinct advantage
* Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, and technical schedules
* Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
* Strong communication and time-management abilities
This role is office based in Stoke on Trent. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to work in a team orientated environment.
