Zedsen is a health technology startup focused on next-generation cancer screening. Our novel, non-invasive sensor technology enables us to screen for cancerous lesions at depth without exposing the surrounding tissue to radiation. This will enable us to introduce safer, accessible, and cost-effective alternatives to traditional screening methods.
Our primary mission is to reinvent the breast cancer detection pathway by providing safe, affordable, and accessible breast cancer screening solutions; ultimately improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs. By developing scalable, affordable technology that can be widely implemented, we aim to bring effective cancer screening to low-resourced markets and make a significant impact on the future of cancer screening and treatment worldwide.
What you’ll do:
Novel hardware is at the core of Zedsen’s product development. This role will oversee the internal design changes and testing of our hardware systems, leading a small team of hardware, electronics, and testing engineers. It will also involve developing and executing our regulatory strategy and overall product development.
This detection approach requires tight synchrony between system hardware design, signal processing, and algorithmic development. The role will work closely with our algorithm development team to understand how hardware modifications can complement algorithmic design and improve system performance.
The role requires developing a deep understanding of Zedsen’s technology and existing hardware and firmware stack. It involves rapidly onboarding and executing short-term plans while taking ownership of longer-term hardware development vision.
Key Responsibilities:
* Management of existing electronics and hardware team members and project deliverables.
* Ownership of internal testing procedures and strategy.
* Proposing future development strategies for hardware and electronics.
* Collaborating with external contract manufacturers to ensure specifications are met.
* Planning development timelines and managing projects.
Qualifications:
* Degree in electronics, electrical, or biomedical engineering (minimum 2:1)
* Master’s degree + 3 years industry experience OR 5+ years industry experience
* Experience with low-noise electronics design
* Team leadership experience
* Risk management and FMEA experience
* Experience designing systems using electromagnetic sensing
* Experience with FPGA code development
* Experience with VHDL
* Proficiency with Altium schematic capture and layout
* Strong documentation skills
Benefits include private medical and dental cover, life and health insurance, lunch at work, flexible remote working, 25 days annual leave, bonus scheme, and opportunities for professional growth.
How We Work:
