Job Title: CNC Setter/Operator – Evening Shift
Location: Witney, Oxford
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm – 12:30am (Permanent Late Shift)
Pay Rate: £13-£14 per hour + 25% shift enhancement (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
About The Role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join a small, collaborative team working on the evening shift. This is a hands-on role that requires a high level of competency in both setting up and operating CNC machinery. While experience in both is preferred, applicants with strong operating skills and a willingness to develop their setting capabilities are encouraged to apply. Full training and support will be provided as required.
Key Responsibilities
Set and operate CNC machines in accordance with job specifications and engineering drawings
Ensure all required parts, materials, and technical drawings are available and correct before commencing work
Record and maintain accurate set-up details and carry out regular machine checks
Identify and escalate quality or performance issues promptly to the appropriate supervisor or manager
Work in compliance with all relevant Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) procedures and risk assessments
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
Demonstrate a flexible and positive approach to work and teamwork
Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to operational efficiency
Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by management
Person Specification
Essential:
Previous experience in CNC machine operating
Willingness to work permanent evening shifts (Monday to Thursday)
Proactive attitude towards safety and quality
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable:
Experience with Fanuc-controlled CNC machines
Previous experience in a small-team manufacturing environment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Familiarity with recording set-up and production data
