This is an exciting opportunity for a Lead Sourcing Specialist, working as part of the Sourcing Team in the GE Vernova Monitoring & Diagnostics (M&D) business, within Grid Automation (GA), located in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, UK.
The M&D product line is a class leading vendor of sensing devices and systems to Electrical Utilities and Industrial customers. The product line spans sensing of multiple asset types and has a broad portfolio of advanced technology, which aid customers to understand and optimize the operating condition of key assets such as power transformers and circuit breakers.
The successful applicant will implement strategic & tactical sourcing initiatives to optimise overall supplier performance, quality & cost within a variety of commodities. This is an exciting & rewarding opportunity in a small team, working with many internal & external stakeholders to drive tangible results.
This role is hands-on, requiring a strong ability to think independently, with a focus on quality & cost.
Responsibilities:
* Negotiate Contracts & drive cost reduction projects, supporting site deflation targets.
* Carry out & assess spend analysis, benchmarking activities & new RFQs across multiple commodities to local / global suppliers, demonstrating focus on quality, on time delivery (replenishment strategy discussions) & best pricing.
* Identify, evaluate and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring quality, on-time delivery & pricing. This will include leading / participating in cross-functional periodic Supplier Reviews (against KPIs) to monitor & / or improve supplier performance.
* Support & / or drive internal stakeholder teams on 1) New Product Introductions projects (NPI), 2) Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) affecting parts/supplier changes, 3) Supplier transfers (TOW's), 4) Project Teams on RFQs, quality & On Time Delivery of products & services.
* Proactive & reactive management & support of EOL/obsolescence management, sole sources, other operational/geo-political risks, as required.
* Proactively research 1) component/commodity trends & 2) market analysis of new suppliers & selection process when appropriate.
* Support site internal stakeholders on supplier related escalations & resolution causing supply chain disruption
* Lead/support supplier recovery projects to exit, Performance Improvement Plans, supplier recovery of costs accrued at GEV, as a result of poor quality/performance.
* Collaborate with legal team to finalize procurement contracts, as required.
* The role will include the need for occasional local / international travel.
* Apply GE Vernova way principles in day-to-day work with a safety-first mindset.
* Carry out additional Sourcing function projects/tasks as requested by business or line manager.
* Work collaboratively within many internal departments & global supply base.
Requirements:
* Previous relevant experience of working in a senior buyer/sourcing capacity within a manufacturing environment, including strong understanding of inventory replenishment strategies & proven experience managing price & delivery negotiations
* Strong communicator
* Excellent ability to negotiate & analyse Contracts and terms & proficiency in MS Excel
* Commercially astute, resilient, flexible, team player and committed.
* Problem solving abilities & independent approac to working.
* Demonstrated high level of integrity.
* Experience of ERP systems.
Desired Qualifications:
* UK driving license
* 3rd level qualification
* Experience of SAP ERP.
* Experience of RFQs & TOWs & driving supplier performance
* Experience managing supply chain resolution, including component shortage recovery, other supply chain risks & pro-actively managing Supply Chain risk mitigation strategies
