Overview
This is a full-time role for an Experienced Plumber covering Romford, Watford, Enfield and Harlow.
Salary: A GBP 32,000 - A GBP 36,000 per annum • Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 8:10 hour shifts (days)
Responsibilities
* Excellent time management to ensure works are carried out at and within the scheduled timings.
* Liaising with client/site personnel regarding work progress/issues and communicating these to the office promptly.
* Ability to work alone and/or project manage/lead a team of engineers.
* Conduct remedial pre-start surveys to identify scope, materials and requirements to deliver in line with budgeted cost; work with sales to price accurately.
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance and remedial/plumbing tasks for control of Legionella bacteria; temperature monitoring of water services (plant and distribution); shower cleaning/descaling; water services plant inspection (e.g., cold water storage tanks, calorifiers).
* Thermostatic mixer valve inspection, servicing and installations; water sampling for microbiological analysis; clean and disinfection of water systems; dead leg removals.
* Hot and cold water storage modifications and installation of various valve types; copper and steel pipework modifications and soldering; other plumbing work on hot and cold water systems.
* Strong technical knowledge of hot and cold domestic water systems.
* Identify potential non-conformances and liaise internally for cross/upselling opportunities.
* Support the sales department with generating accurate and cost-effective quotes for remedial/plumbing tasks, considering labour and material requirements.
* Organise appropriate equipment for tasks and ensure it is functional and within calibration limits.
* Maintain equipment in a serviceable condition; coordinate replacements or investigations for deficiencies with the Head of Surveying.
* Arrange travel to and from client sites as required.
* Carry out tasks in accordance with company method statements and procedures.
* Record all site findings and recommendations in full using a digital compliance system.
* Represent the company professionally and set a good example; promote a positive image in the marketplace.
* Ensure adherence to company procedures.
* Train other members of the surveying team as required (internal and external).
* Act in accordance with the Company Code of Conduct at all times.
* Complete tasks within allotted costs, where applicable.
Qualifications
* Essential: City and Guilds NVQ Level 2 Plumbing (minimum).
* Essential: At least 2 years experience as a qualified plumber.
* Essential: Full UK driving licence.
* Essential: Located within commutable distance to Harlow, Enfield, Romford, Watford.
* Essential: Experience in working on both commercial and domestic properties.
* Desirable: Legionella awareness (City and Guilds accredited preferred).
