Engineering Shift Leader
Manage and direct the daily activities of the Engineering department personnel. This includes allocating tasks, monitoring productivity, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and established procedures, and maintaining operational effectiveness in accordance with site Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and objectives.
The Engineering Shift Leader is also accountable for resolving issues and disputes, as well as providing management with timely and relevant information regarding concerns. Furthermore, the Engineering Shift Leader shall engage with Technical and Commercial teams to satisfy requests for technical data and offer guidance pertaining to regulatory and quality standards as mandated by the Quality Assurance department to guarantee conformity with BSI standards.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Maintaining a safe and organised work environment, including enforcing safety regulations / processes & procedures and ‘calling it out.
2. Maximising the performance of the assigned areas within the department / shift by directing the daily, weekly, monthly activities to achieve productivity targets (BPAH and TPAH), quality targets, Fleet standards and non-conformances from customers.
3. Conduct people process elements e.g; Return to Work Interviews, Investigations & Disciplinary in line with company policies & procedures, ensuring a fair and transparent process is adhered to, ensuring employee relation risks are minimised for the business.
4. Provide team members with regular performance feedback in order to support colleagues to be ‘At their best’. Support Operations Manager to deliver robust year end evaluations that support succession planning
5. Regular review of workload and capacities of team actively looking to improve on operational KPIs and targets
6. To assist the Hire-It & Engineering Operations Manager in the everyday running of the department.
7. Use throughputs and data to plan resources including workforce and mechanical handling equipment. Utilising the work flow engine.
8. Plan using forecasts to ensure safe and efficient operation capable of meeting the demands of the business moving forward, utilising agency where required for peaks.
9. Plan, lead and implement continuous improvement solutions to existing processes and new objectives presented to the DC.
