Hays are currently recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant to join a well-established organisation in Sunderland on a maternity cover basis.This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working from home three days a week, with two days in the office, and provides a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-performing finance team. Key Responsibilities: Maintain the finance system, ensuring accurate coding and project costing Verify and post journals as required Calculate and post income and expenditure accruals and prepayments Prepare quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis Conduct income reconciliation and analysis Ensure revenue recognition aligns with accounting standards Assist in the preparation of quarterly management accounts Support the finance team in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts Collaborate with business managers to identify sustainable cost-saving opportunities Review supplier contracts and recommend renewals or alternatives Prepare reports to assess the financial performance of ongoing projects What We’re Looking For: Proven experience in a similar finance or accounting role Strong Excel and financial modelling skills Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
