Head of Paid Media

The Group Head of Paid Media is responsible for the strategic ownership, execution, and performance of all global paid media activities across RWS. This role owns the full end‑to‑end paid media ecosystem. It covers strategy design, campaign execution, performance analysis, optimisation and more.
Acting as an in‑house hands‑on expert, you will manage agency relationships, drive measurable return on ad spend (ROAS), and ensure paid media consistently contributes to pipeline, revenue, and overall marketing effectiveness. You will also shape the vision for how RWS leverages paid channels today and in the future.
Key Responsibilities
* Own the end‑to‑end global paid media strategy across all business lines, markets, and channels.
* Set ambitious yet achievable paid media goals, directly aligned with marketing pipeline, revenue targets, and company growth objectives.
* Act as the in‑house thought leader for paid media, advising senior leadership on trends, new opportunities, and competitive positioning.
Campaign Ownership & Performance
* Oversee planning, execution, optimisation and reporting of all paid campaigns (search, display, social, programmatic, ABM, video, content syndication, etc.).
* Ensure consistent and measurable ROI and ROAS across campaigns with full accountability for budget allocation and media spend efficiency.
* Present paid media performance, insights and recommendations to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
* Leverage data‑driven insights to refine audience targeting, creative strategies, and messaging to maximise impact.
Agency & Partner Management
* Lead relationships with external media agencies, ensuring alignment with RWS objectives, cost efficiency and delivery of world‑class campaign execution.
* Establish clear performance frameworks for agencies, holding them accountable for results.
* Support agency success with guidance, best practices and alignment to RWS brand and demand generation strategy.
* Identify and test emerging platforms, technologies and paid media strategies to expand RWS’s reach and engagement.
* Develop a robust testing framework (A/B experiments, pilot campaigns) to drive continuous improvement and learning.
* Partner with cross‑functional teams (content, creative, product marketing, marketing operations, data/analytics) to fuel campaign success and pipeline generation.
* Mentor and guide internal teams, elevating paid media knowledge and capability across the business.
Skills & Experience
* 7+ years of experience in senior paid media roles within global B2B organisations.
* Proven track record of driving measurable ROI and ROAS from multi‑million‑dollar media budgets.
* Expertise across all major paid media channels (Google Ads, LinkedIn, Meta, programmatic, content syndication, ABM platforms).
* Strong experience managing and optimising agency relationships.
* Data‑driven, with deep knowledge of analytics and paid media reporting frameworks.
* Strategic thinker with a hands‑on ability to dive into campaign detail when needed.
* Excellent stakeholder management and presentation skills.
* Demonstrated success in identifying and scaling new channels, tools and approaches.
