As our Naloxone Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in expanding the availability of naloxone across Brighton, ensuring that those at risk know have access to this life-saving medication when they need it most. Our vibrant Brighton service team includes service managers, consultant psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, healthcare assistants, recovery staff, volunteers, administrators, and Peer Mentors. Collectively, we are devoted to providing the highest quality support and interventions for individuals using our services. Location: Brighton Hours: 37.5 Salary: £27,449.52 - £31,529.41 Contract: Fixed Term Contract until March 2025 As the Naloxone Coordinator, you'll oversee all aspects of naloxone provision within our service, from stock management to training coordination. Your responsibilities will include delivering naloxone training as part of our Overdose Awareness initiatives to community police, custody suites, hostels, and young people. You'll collaborate with the Combatting Drug Partnership to deliver and supervise naloxone training with the police force. But that's not all. You'll also facilitate training for designated workers in partner organis ations, ensuring that naloxone is properly distributed and administered to those who need it. You'll raise awareness about naloxone and overdose prevention through targeted health promotion campaigns and proactively promote naloxone availability to various stakeholders, including emergency services and accommodation providers. What We're Looking For: We're seeking someone with experience in public health, harm reduction, substance use treatment, or community outreach. Knowledge of opioid overdose prevention strategies, naloxone administration, and harm reduction principles is essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. You will have experience of managing volunteers and peer mentors who will support with Naloxone and overdose training.
