As a Despatch Shift Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all despatch operations during your shift. You'll lead and motivate a dedicated team, ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately, and maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organisational skills, problem-solving ability, and the drive to deliver results in a fast-paced food production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and coordinate all despatch activities during your shift.
* Oversee the daily despatch plan to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment.
* Lead, train, and support the despatch team to achieve performance targets.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and hygiene regulations.
* Monitor and manage stock control, picking, packing, and loading.
* Conduct regular quality checks and ensure correct product handling.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement to maximise efficiency.
* Maintain accurate shift records and reporting.
* Collaborate with warehousing, production, and transport teams for smooth supply chain operations.
* Use WMS/NAV systems to maintain 100% inventory accuracy.
What We're Looking For:
* Previous experience in a despatch, logistics, or supply chain role (food industry preferred).
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating teams.
* Knowledge of HACCP, BRC standards, and food safety compliance.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to work under pressure, solve problems, and meet deadlines.
* Strong communication and IT skills (experience with WMS/NAV is desirable).
* Forklift license and experience (an advantage).
