PositionOverview: We are seeking a highly skilled andqualified Lead Electrical Engineer to oversee electricalmaintenance operations for a sitebased facility managementcontract. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuringthe safe and efficient operation of electrical systems providingtechnical expertise and supervising a team of engineers. The rolerequires a thorough understanding of electrical regulations in theUK including specific qualifications for high voltage (HV)supervision. A full clean drivers license is essential as anelectric van will be provided for onsiteduties.
KeyResponsibilities:
1. Electrical MaintenanceManagement:
o Lead andcoordinate electrical maintenance activities including inspectionstesting and repairs to ensure compliance with regulations andstandards.
o Develop and implement preventivemaintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize theperformance of electrical systems.
o Troubleshoot electrical faults and provide timelyresolution to minimize disruptions to operations.
2. HVSupervision:
o Providehigh voltage (HV) supervision and ensure compliance with safetyprotocols and regulations during installation maintenance andrepair of HV equipment.
o Conduct riskassessments and implement safety measures to mitigate hazardsassociated with HV systems.
o Train and mentorjunior engineers on HV procedures and safe workingpractices.
o TechnicalExpertise:
o Utilize technicalknowledge and expertise to evaluate the condition of electricalsystems identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions toenhance efficiency and reliability.
o Keepabreast of industry trends advancements in technology andregulatory changes to ensure compliance and bestpractices.
3. TeamLeadership:
o Supervise and mentor a team of electrical engineers andtechnicians providing guidance support and training asneeded.
o Delegate tasks effectively monitorprogress and ensure adherence to quality standards and safetyprocedures.
o Foster a collaborative andpositive work environment that promotes professional growth anddevelopment.
4. Documentation andReporting:
o Maintainaccurate records of electrical maintenance activities includingwork orders inspection reports and equipment manuals.
o Prepare regular reports on maintenance performanceincluding key metrics such as uptime downtime and compliance withregulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
* Electrical qualification recognized in the UK (e.g. City& Guilds NVQ HNC HND) with demonstrable experience inelectrical engineering.
* Specificqualifications for HV supervision (e.g. HV Authorised Personcertification) are essential.
* Provenexperience in a supervisory or leadership role within theelectrical engineering field preferably in a facilities managementor similar environment.
* Thorough understandingof UK electrical regulations and standards (e.g. BS 7671) with theability to interpret and apply them effectively.
* Excellent diagnostic and problemsolving skills with theability to analyse complex electrical systems and troubleshootissues efficiently.
* Strong communication andinterpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively withclients team members and stakeholders.
* Validfull clean drivers license is mandatory as an electric van will beprovided for onsiteduties.
