Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to help deliver our regulatory responsibilities as the Enforcement Authority for the Reservoirs Act 1975 in England. The Reservoirs Act helps to ensure the safe operation and management of dams. This role is part-time (22.2 hours per week) and a job share with flexibility encouraged.
Responsibilities
* Monitor compliance with the Reservoirs Act 1975 for the 2140 reservoirs in England.
* Manage day-to-day correspondence and record incoming documentation on our database to keep records accurate and up to date.
* Encourage compliance when reports or certificates are not received as expected.
* Be the first point of contact for reservoir owners and panel engineers.
* Provide information and advice on the requirements of the Act.
Team and Context
You will join the Environmental Assessment and Reservoir Regulation department, part of the Flood & Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Directorate. The Reservoir Regulation team is nationally dispersed and comprises 25+ staff responsible for regulating more than 2140 large raised reservoirs in England. Some travel and overnight stays may be required.

Additional Information
This is a national role; you can be based at any Environment Agency office. The role requires participation in incident response duties when needed. Training and incident response support communities and protect the environment are essential parts of the role.
