A rare and exciting vacancy to join our growing Quantock Outdoor Education team.
Quantock Outdoor Education is an alternative education provision delivering high-quality learning and outdoor experiences to children and young people with additional learning needs and/or emotional and behavioural difficulties. Our skilled team devises and delivers bespoke learning programmes designed specifically to support the needs of our vulnerable young people and works closely with schools across the Southwest to deliver an all-inclusive education provision. We place our young people at the centre of what we do and aim to make the National Curriculum accessible to all.
We are looking for a dynamic youth support worker specialising in outdoor learning to join our growing team. You will have experience of working with children and young people and delivering a range of outdoor education programmes. We seek someone with excellent communication skills who can positively engage and motivate young people, regardless of their needs.
You will be responsible for and lead in the planning and delivery of bespoke outdoor education packages for various age groups and needs, ensuring safe, healthy, and stimulating environments.
We are looking for a flexible and committed individual, passionate about empowering children and young people. You will work in a combination of offices, classrooms, and outdoor environments.
As an Outdoor Education Leader and Support Worker, work is often term-time to support schools between 08:30am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday, with an additional training week during school holidays. However, this can change depending on the needs of the business and whether school holiday programmes are scheduled.
This role is subject to the successful applicant having an enhanced DBS check for child and adult workforce with barred list checks.

Requirements
* Driving licence (essential)
* Right to work in the UK (essential)
* Applicants preferably have experience or qualifications in:
* Safeguarding (desirable but full training provided)
* Orienteering qualification (desirable)
* Level 2 in Coaching Paddle Sports Certificate with BCU 4-star Award, sea or inland (desirable)
* Youth Work Qualification e.g., Level 3 in Youth Work (desirable)
Ability to commute/relocate:
* Taunton, TA2 8QN: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
