Position Overview
The Plating Supervisor oversees daily operations in the plating department. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality metal finishing processes. The supervisor manages team members, monitors production schedules, enforces safety protocols, and maintains compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Key Duties
* Direct and supervise plating operations during assigned shifts
* Organize and assign tasks to plating team members
* Monitor production processes to meet quality and productivity targets
* Inspect finished products for quality according to specifications
* Oversee the usage, storage, and disposal of chemicals in accordance with safety standards
* Train and support workers in safe operation of equipment and handling of materials
* Track materials, supplies, and equipment to ensure adequate inventory for production
* Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions or product defects
* Document daily production, maintenance, and safety activities
* Maintain a clean and organized work environment
* Support continuous improvement initiatives in process and workflow
* Address and report safety incidents or hazards promptly
* Collaborate with quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve operations and resolve issues
Required Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Experience working in a plating, metal finishing, or manufacturing environment
* Experience in a supervisory or lead role
* Knowledge of plating processes, equipment, and chemicals
* Understanding of safety and environmental regulations related to metal finishing
* Ability to read and interpret technical documents and work instructions
* Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
* Ability to work efficiently while managing multiple priorities
* Attention to detail and commitment to product quality
* Ability to lift, carry, and handle materials as required for the role
* Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
