SEN Teaching Assistant - Near Horsham, West Sussex
We are seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-regarded specialist school located near Horsham, West Sussex. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people in a nurturing and structured setting, helping them grow both academically and personally.
Location : Near Horsham, West Sussex
Hours : Monday: 8:30am - 4:00pm Tuesday to Thursday: 8:30am - 4:15pm Friday: 8:30am - 3:45pm
Salary : £14.00 - £15.50 per hour
Contract : Long-term / Temp-to-Perm
Own transport is essential due to the school's rural setting
The Role:
* Support students with a range of complex mental health and additional needs, providing consistency and reassurance throughout the school day.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the wider school team to maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.
* Encourage and guide pupils in managing their emotions and engaging positively with their learning.
* Assist learners across different key stages, helping them build confidence and achieve meaningful progress.
The school prides itself on its therapeutic and individualised approach, with small class sizes and a strong focus on tailored learning strategies to meet each student's needs.
What We're Looking For:
* A patient and empathetic individual with a genuine interest in supporting children with SEN
* Previous experience in an SEN setting is beneficial but not required
* Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
* A positive, adaptable, and proactive attitude
