We are looking for an outstanding Head of History & Politics to lead two dynamic and influential subject areas. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner to shape a vibrant curriculum, inspire high levels of academic achievement, and cultivate a culture of curiosity, dialogue and critical reflection.
About the Role
As Head of History & Politics, you will:
Lead the strategic direction, development and daily operations of the History & Politics department.
Teach History at GCSE and A Level and Politics at A Level to highly motivated students.
Design and deliver engaging, intellectually ambitious lessons that inspire independent thinking and informed debate.
Champion modern, research‑informed pedagogy and digital learning approaches.
Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, tracking and departmental quality assurance.
Support, mentor and develop colleagues across the department, fostering collaboration and reflective practice.
Enrich the wider school experience through trips, clubs, academic events and co‑curricular opportunities such as debating, historical societies or political forums.
Contribute fully to the pastoral life of the school and embody our values of curiosity, respect and ambition.
About You
