What you’ll do in this Refrigeration Engineer job As Refrigeration Engineer, you’ll take the lead on installation and commissioning of refrigeration systems onboard marine vessels. You will work on cold rooms, cool rooms, and chilled water plants. Ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard and in line with client requirements. When not on site (which can be around circa 11-12 weeks at major naval ports in the UK) you will be back at the office near West Malling, Kent. Here you will support the projects being designed and built for naval clients. Offering you the chance to advise while developing your technical skills. Sometimes you will also also support other service, maintenance, and installation projects across the South East. Helping deliver a high-quality refrigeration service to clients Key responsibilities include: Leading installation and commissioning of refrigeration systems on marine vessels. Carrying out pipework, brazing, and electrical tasks to a high standard. Supporting service, maintenance, and project delivery across the major Naval ports in the UK. Maintaining accurate records and project documentation. Working closely with colleagues, contractors, and clients to deliver quality results. What you’ll bring to this Refrigeration Engineer job This role is ideal for a skilled Refrigeration Engineer with proven installation and commissioning experience who enjoys both technical work and project delivery. You’ll combine practical hands-on ability with good communication skills and the flexibility to work away when projects require. You don’t need prior marine refrigeration experience to succeed in this role — what matters most is your strong technical knowledge and the ambition to take ownership of complex installation and commissioning projects.
