Robert Half Finance & Accounting are supporting an unique and interesting business based in central Bath who are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their team for a period of 6 months, with potential of extension. This is on a fixed term contract basis and has hybrid working.
Role: Accounts Assistant
Salary: Up to £30,000
Duration: 6 month fixed term contract
Start date: January 2026
Responsibilities:
1. Maintaining accounts payable ledger
2. Maintaining accounts receivable ledger
3. Processing of creditor payments inclusive of multiple payment streams (multiple banks and payment agents) and where applicable foreign currencies
4. Project Accounting - processing and coding accurately to correct projects, ensuring project balances reconcile
5. Variance reports
6. Liaising with project financial operations and external contractors
7. Month End: Assisting in preparation of journal entries, accruals, journals, prepayment
8. and other month end inputs
9. Assistance in any month end reconciliations required
Skills/Experience needed:
10. Strong understanding and proven experience sales & purchase ledger as a minimum
11. Experience of working in a professional services environment - Desirable
12. Proficient in Excel - VLOOKUP's, pivot tables
13. Ability to work in a fast paced environment
14. Experience with assisting with month end, international accounts & multi-currencies - Desirable
15. Studying/Studied AAT
16. High attention to detail
17. Ability to prioritise tasks well
