This role is part of the Financial Institutions Credit Risk team, which is responsible for managing and analysing the Bank's activities in its Global Markets business areas (FIC and Commodities) including approval of credit limits and monitoring of counterparty credit profiles and exposures such as derivatives, reverse repo and TRS financing, and secured loans. The role is focussed on a portfolio of predominately Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs) such as hedge funds, and depending on experience will also include bank counterparties.

What you'll be doing

You'll be responsible for;

* Counterparty risk management including detailed credit analysis of financial information and liaising with clients to determine a credit opinion and formulate credit proposals. Recommendations, key risks and limit approvals to be clearly articulated. Further, provide input and advice on the credit terms of and support the negotiation of legal documentation, including GMRA and ISDA with CSA.
* Transaction risk management. Undertake risk analysis on new and existing transactions including analysing internal stress test results.
* Portfolio management including on-going monitoring of the credit worthiness of a portfolio of counterparties and industry trends, monitoring of limit excesses etc.
* Team and senior management support including oversight of relevant projects and proactively driving change within the department.

What you'll need to be successful

* Experience in writing credit applications and analysing NBFIs within the credit risk department of a Financial Institution, with strong attention to detail.
* Good understanding of accounting to analyse financial strengths and weaknesses of clients and identify potential risks to credit proposals.
* Good understanding of derivative products and ability to identify product specific related risks.
* Ability to interact and communicate clearly and concisely with Front Office providing credit support to Deal Teams and Sales Teams.
* Experience of engaging with clients to discuss business models, trading activity and related credit risks.
* Conceptual and practical knowledge of credit procedures, policies and standards.
* A proactive mindset.
