Facilities Management Team Leader
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Facilities Team at Basingstoke and Deane Council in a newly created Facilities Management Team Leader role. The team sits within the Property and Assets function at the council.
The Council holds an established property investment and operational portfolio principally comprising industrial, office and retail assets, and with some other miscellaneous assets, valued in excess of £300m producing an annual rental income more than £19m. Rental income is a major contributor to the financial sustainability of the Council and the income received significantly exceeds that generated through the collection of Council Tax.
Following a reorganisation and recognising the important role Facilities Management plays within buildings occupied by BDBC staff, we are looking to recruit a Facilities Management Team Leader to support the continued development of the service.
The post holder must be able to work well with and lead a team, as well as working on their own when needed. They will ensure that the buildings occupied by BDBC staff are:
1. Fit for purpose for staff, customers and councillors to work and visit
2. Compliant with current regulations e.g. fire risk assessments, fixed wire testing
The role will manage on the site security of the civic campus and support a small team of Facilities Management officers.
We are looking for someone who can assist in developing the facilities function as well as forging good working relationships with consultants, internal and external stakeholders and contractors. Ideally, you will have experience of working in a similar environment, combined with excellent communication and team working skills. An ability to adapt quickly to work demands and to develop and record procedures is important.
This post is initially offered as a 12-month fixed term contract. If you already work for the council, this could be arranged as a secondment with your line managers agreement, please ensure you speak to them before applying if you would like to explore this option.
