Job Opportunity: Cyber Security Engineer (Contractor) – FinTech Startup
Contract Length: 6 months (with potential to extend)
Are you a hands-on Cyber Security Engineer with a passion for securing innovative financial technology? We’re hiring on behalf of a rapidly growing FinTech startup that’s transforming how people manage and invest their money. They’re looking for an experienced Cyber Security
Engineer (Contractor) to join their team and take ownership of their security infrastructure.
The Role:
As the Cyber Security Engineer, you’ll work closely with the CTO and DevOps team to assess, harden, and enhance the company’s cloud-native infrastructure, applications, and internal systems. This is a critical, high-impact role in a fast-paced startup environment.
* Conduct security assessments, threat modelling, and vulnerability scanning
* Define and implement security best practices across cloud (AWS/GCP) environments
* Develop and maintain incident response procedures
* Monitor and manage SIEM tools, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
* Work with engineering teams to ensure secure code and deployment pipelines (CI/CD)
* Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, PCI DSS, SOC 2)
* 5+ years in cyber/information security roles
* Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
* Strong knowledge of security protocols, encryption, and identity management
* Experience with DevSecOps and secure CI/CD pipelines
* Familiarity with regulatory requirements in financial services
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setup
