School Finance Assistant - Primary School
Location: Greenwich, South East London
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 8:30am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £18 - £20 per hour (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time, Temporary (with potential for permanent placement)
About the Role:
A busy and supportive Secondary school in Greenwich is looking to appoint a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join their administrative team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with school-based finance experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Process purchase orders, invoices, and payments in line with school financial procedures
Assist in budget monitoring and provide administrative support to the School Business Manager
Maintain accurate records of income, expenditure, and financial transactions
Liaise with suppliers, staff, and external agencies regarding financial queries
Support the preparation of financial reports for leadership and governors
Ensure compliance with all school finance and audit policiesRequirements:
Previous experience working in a school finance or administrative role (SIMS/FMS experience desirable)
Strong numeracy and IT skills, particularly in Excel
High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)What the School Offers:
