Job Description: MPA Recruitment is working in partnership with the local Health and Social Care Trust to recruit a Band 5 Fire Prevention Officer based at Craigavon Area Hospital, Estates Portacabin, with travel required across Trust sites. This is a temporary full-time position (37.5 hours per week) until 20/11/2026. Job Summary The successful candidate will support the Health and Safety Manager (Fire) in delivering a professional advisory service on all aspects of Fire Safety. The role involves providing expert guidance, promoting effective Fire Safety management across the organisation, and helping to develop a strong culture of Fire Safety compliance. The post holder will work closely with senior colleagues, line managers, staff, external organisations, and other key stakeholders to ensure Fire Safety standards are maintained throughout the Trust. Qualifications / Experience Required Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade A*–C, including English and Mathematics (or equivalent Level 2 qualification or higher relevant qualification). AND A recognised Fire Risk Assessment qualification (which must include undertaking fire risk assessments) along with at least 12 months’ relevant experience. Applicants must also demonstrate: Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience delivering training programmes. Experience preparing and completing reports. Experience independently managing and carrying out fire risk assessment programmes across a variety of premises. Experience identifying and recording fire risks using Healthcare HTM Firecode, PAS 79, or similar recognised fire risk assessment frameworks. Evidence of 12 months of Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Additional Requirements A current full UK driving licence and access to a car upon appointment are essential. This requirement may be waived for applicants whose disability prevents them from driving, provided they have access to suitable alternative transport approved by the Organisation to fulfil the duties of the role.
