Reporting to the Bid Excellence Director, the Solutions Architect will deliver bidding excellence to help secure commercial and public sector opportunities across a broad range of projects and services.
You will provide specialist solutions architecture, operating as a bid writer and individual contributor, owning and coordinating the design and articulation of compelling, innovative, and effective solutions aligned with customer requirements.
The role focuses on designing and articulating solutions for complex specialist contract requirements, such as transformative IFM, multi-activity support services, and contracts with multiple delivery locations.
This includes determining the best integrated service delivery model, analyzing management and contract structures, assessing alternative delivery methods, and aligning technology requirements with other service outputs.
You will work within a high-performing bid team, collaborating with Bid Leads, bid managers, finance, legal, HR, and subject matter experts.
Main Duties
1. Supporting Bid Leads and bid managers in developing high-quality, tailored, and integrated solutions for complex requirements.
2. Understanding relevant markets and customer needs to support the development of customer-focused proposals.
3. Contributing to bid and solution development workshops, including kick-offs and reviews.
4. Collaborating with operational teams to draw on their expertise for optimal solution design.
5. Designing Target Operating Models that meet customer needs and align with bid strategies.
6. Articulating overarching solution integration for complex deals, interfacing with sales and bid teams.
7. Creating storyboards for proposal responses and ensuring adherence throughout the writing process.
8. Gathering information from technical experts to develop aligned responses.
9. Developing compelling written responses that articulate value propositions and differentiators.
10. Reviewing draft responses and providing constructive feedback.
11. Updating on solution progress and contributing to status meetings.
12. Describing solution competitiveness and winnability to internal stakeholders.
13. Collaborating with bid leads to ensure timely presentation of solutions.
14. Contributing to internal and client presentations as needed.
15. Maintaining bid documentation and supporting risk management.
16. Supporting effective handover to mobilization teams.
What we are looking for
* At least 5 years' experience in a bid-related role within a successful bid team.
* Strong knowledge of IFM and multi-activity contracts and mobilisation processes.
* Ability to work independently in a high-performing bid environment.
* Excellent time management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office and strategic thinking abilities.
* Experience working with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts.
* Certified to APMP Foundation level or above (desirable).
* Experience in bidding for public and commercial sectors, especially in FM, Security, Care & Custody, Defence, or Technical Services (desirable).
