Are you an experienced Finance Manager with a strong background in school finance? This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is confident managing school budgets, financial reporting, and compliance within an educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee all financial operations within the school, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with local authority and DfE guidelines.
* Manage and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow to support effective financial planning.
* Prepare monthly management accounts, year-end reports, and audit documentation.
* Process payroll, invoices, and supplier payments efficiently.
* Liaise with the Headteacher, Governors, and Local Authority on financial strategy and decision-making.
* Maintain financial records in line with CFR (Consistent Financial Reporting) and Academy Trust Handbook requirements (if applicable).
* Supervise and support administrative or finance assistants where necessary.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in school finance (essential).
* Strong understanding of school budgeting, funding streams, and financial regulations in education.
* Experience using school finance systems (such as SIMS FMS, PS Financials, RM Finance, or similar).
* Excellent numeracy, analytical, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information.
* A relevant finance qualification (e.g., AAT, CIMA, ACCA) or equivalent experience is desirable.
* Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
