Optimus Plus are now looking for a Principal Technical Safety Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen on a full-time employee basis.

Key duties:
* Identify the scope of work required
* Input to project plans
* Identify areas of concern during any project or study
* Lead and chair HAZID and HAZOP workshops
* Ensure designs comply with international standards (NFPA, API, DNV, ..)
* Technical assurance and design review
* Produce cost- effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value
* Ability to address operational and maintenance issues in the design and liaise with colleagues for the best solution
* Interface with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to resolve safety issues.
* Mentor and guide junior technical safety engineers
About You
Qualification:
* Degree in a relevant subject
Experience / competence:
* Experience in HAZOP and HAZID Chairing & Participation
* Experience in Functional Safety
* Experience in FEED Study
* Experience in QRA, FERA, EERA, and risk assessment methodologies
* Experience in Hazardous Area Classification
* Previous experience in preparation of technical proposal, cost and man-hour estimates
