A commercial, listed business is looking for an Internal Audit Manager to join the team and help set up the audit, risk and controls environment internally and bring the subsidiary in line with the Group policy.
The business is a highly acquisitive company specialising in various technologies, selling both B2B and B2C. The role will be based in the Greater Manchester office (2/3 days per week). For the scale of the company (multi-billon £ turnover) and role, the amount of travel required is rather low, circa 10-20%.
The company has a small, newly formed team and this role will report to the Head of Audit & Assurance, who reports both to the Audit Committee (AC), with a dotted line to the CFO. Therefore, this role will give excellent exposure to the business and senior stakeholders. This a Manager level role, but whilst it is hands-on, within a flat structure, we are looking for someone with some previous industry (IA, Internal Controls, Risk Advisory, etc.) experience gained either in a commercial business (eg. Internal Auditor or Senior Internal Auditor) or in a practice team (Big 4/Top 10 Risk Assurance / Risk Advisory).
The type of person we are looking for will likely be/have the following:
* Relevant education in either finance, business, accounting, audit or another relevant area
* An accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIA) and/or MBA would be an advantage
* International experience would be an advantage
* A commercial eye for detail
* Personality to interact with stakeholders up to Group CEO level
* Ambition to progress into other manager roles and beyond audit into the business locally (or possibly abroad)
* Willingness to travel (albeit limited) to see the wider business and develop network within the Group
* Fluency in English
* The right to work, without sponsorship in the UK
