Job Description
ROLE PROFILE
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Excavation Team Lead to work on LV projects s in the North West. The role of the team will include digging track, joint bays, and faults ensuring precision and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Operate excavators and other plant to perform tasks such as trenching, digging and backfilling
2. Read and interpret drawings, safe dig prints, site layouts, and project specifications
3. Conduct daily equipment inspections to ensure functionality and report any maintenance needs
4. Work closely with other teams and back office to ensure site safety and project efficiency
5. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area
6. Work to a defined schedule of jobs per day
7. Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including wearing PPE and following procedures
8. Keep accurate records of machine hours, maintenance, and site activity if required
Skills and Experience:
9. Proven experience working on excavation teams on Utility Projects.
10. Valid streetworks and excavator qualification
11. Knowledge of construction site safety practices and procedures
12. Physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor conditions and variable terrain
13. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
14. Team-oriented and able to communicate effectively with site supervisors and crew
15. Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed
Required Qualifications:
16. Certification in NRSWRA
17. Experience in utilities, drainage, pipeline, or roadwork excavation
Preferred Qualifications
18. Category C licence
19. EUSR SHEA Power
20. First Aid
21. Avoiding Danger From Underground Services (HSG47)
