The Opportunity
We are recruiting an Emergency Preparedness Advisor to develop and implement the company's emergency preparedness strategy. The role includes developing emergency plans, conducting training, and ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Developing and updating emergency preparedness plans and establishing communication protocols.
* Assessing and understanding physical security risks, including special protection needs for critical infrastructure.
* Ensuring processes identify security threats and risks.
* Organising and delivering emergency response training to employees, contractors, and clients.
* Supporting the Business Support Team during emergencies to ensure safety.
* Identifying hazards and developing mitigation plans.
* Collaborating with emergency services, external agencies, and stakeholders.
* Contributing to event investigation and post‑incident recovery; reviewing plans for improvements.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant emergency preparedness regulations and standards.
* Maintaining accurate documentation and records.
* Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of emergency response efforts.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Degree or professional qualification in continuity, disaster, emergency or risk management.
* Experience in a high‑hazard industrial industry such as energy, oil & gas, or hydrocarbon processing.
* Experience in emergency planning or business continuity in complex organizations.
* Extensive knowledge of business continuity and emergency planning techniques, standards, and applications.
* Experience conducting investigations into events to identify root causes and recommendations.
* Experience leading emergency response, including acting as incident manager and advising senior management.
* Working in and contributing to cross‑discipline teams.
