An exciting opportunity has arisen within Gastroenterology Service for a Endoscopy Unit Manager (Band 7) to join the team at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This rare opportunity will mean that the successful individual is involved in the establishment and development of the new purpose built Endoscopy Unit opening at our Friarage site.
This new position will play an integral role in supporting the growth and development of the service in its new home.
Clinically managing the unit, the successful applicant will work closely with The James Cook University Hospital Endoscopy Manager, Service General Manager and Matron to provide the highest possible level of patient care and help to ensure that our directorate continues to strive for excellence and achieve JAG standards
Main duties of the job
The key responsibilities of this role are:
To robustly ensure medical scheduling is maximised to ensure maximum efficiency of clinical facilities and ensure diagnostic waiting times are achieved.
To promote and plan for continuity of service delivery within the Friarage Endoscopy Unit.
To provide senior leadership to the Friarage team and work closely with The James Cook University Hospital Endoscopy Manager to develop cross site utilisation in line with appropriate skill mix.
Supportive management of the Endoscopy training delivery both medical and nursing
To actively participate and support the Clinical Director/Endoscopy clinical Lead in delivering the Endoscopy Users Group
To work closely with all staff to promote excellence and innovation in patient care.
To deputise to represent the service at meetings initiated by service users and 3rd party providers ( decontamination steering group).
