VANRATH are delighted to be assisting a major client with the Recruitment of an Experienced Transport Planning Manager to join an experienced and dynamic team based in Greysteel. Salary - Negotiable + Benefits Package 7.30am to 6.00pm Monday - Friday. Saturday (overtime on rota basis) Responsibilities: Leadership & Oversight: Provide overall leadership and management of the Distribution Department, including domestic drivers and routing teams across all locations. Routing & Compliance: Ensure efficient routing and scheduling of vehicles in full compliance with driver hours regulations and the Working Time Directive. Interdepartmental Coordination: Maintain effective communication with other transport locations and collaborate with Sales teams to align on delivery schedules and service expectations. Operational Monitoring: Supervise daily transport operations to guarantee safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of products in compliance with Health & Safety and environmental standards. Regulatory Compliance: Monitor driver hours, breaks, and tachograph data to ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation. Administrative Oversight: Manage driver rotas, timesheet analysis, and daily operational checks; ensure all necessary departmental documentation is completed accurately and on time. Staff Management: Oversee annual leave and driver absences, working closely with the HR department to ensure appropriate cover and operational continuity. Recruitment & Onboarding: Collaborate with HR on recruitment activities, including interviews, driver inductions, training, and issuing of PPE. Incident Reporting & Escalation: Inform the Operations Director promptly of any road traffic accidents (RTAs) or vehicle maintenance issues. Disciplinary Procedures & Investigations: Document and investigate transport-related misdemeanours, ensuring all incidents-such as RTAs, contamination, spillage, damage, or misconduct-are logged and appropriately resolved. Depot Management: Oversee depot operations including product storage, water dips, meter checks, tank gauging, and product labelling to ensure compliance with quality system standards. Essential Criteria: Previous experience working a supervisory role within the transport sector.
