Hewett Recruitment is excited to be recruiting an experienced Wood Machine Operative for our client based in Stourport-on-Severn. This is a Temporary to Permanent opportunity, with the potential for a permanent contract following a successful trial period. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating wood processing machinery and will be responsible for producing high-quality components while ensuring smooth production flow.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Set up and operate a range of wood processing machinery, including automatic and manual systems
2. Interpret technical drawings and cutting lists to ensure precise production
3. Select and apply suitable materials, adhesives, and finishes based on job requirements
4. Inspect finished components for quality, accuracy, and consistency
5. Perform routine machine maintenance, adjustments, and cleaning to ensure optimal performance
What We're Looking For:
6. Proven experience in operating wood machinery such as Edgebanders, Saws, Planers, and other Woodworking tools
7. Strong knowledge of woodworking materials (e.g., MDF, plywood, laminate, veneer)
8. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results
Location: Stourport-on-Severn
Hours: Monday - Friday 08:00 - 16:30
Pay: From £12.21 per hour / Depending on experience
Contract: Temp - Perm
