The post holder will be required to undertake supervisory duties within the decontamination science discipline and oversee the workforce of Decontamination Technicians in HSDU and EDU, providing a specialised decontamination of medical devices service contributing to the clinical care of the patient. The role involves receipt, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, packing, and sterilisation of reusable medical devices, with all tasks recorded in the Trust tracking and tracing system. The post holder will work in accordance with the Department's Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management Systems, providing supervision and training to new staff and Apprentice Decontamination Technicians. The role involves planning workloads with limited supervision and exposure to blood and body fluids.

Main duties of the job
