Job overview
We are seeking a committed Specialty Doctor with experience in HIV and Genitourinary Medicine (GUM) to join our integrated Sexual Health team across the East of England for 12 months to cover parental leave, 6 PA's per week (24 hours per week).
You will deliver high-quality, patient-centred care, with a focus on the diagnosis, treatment and long term management of HIV and sexually transmitted infections. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will support both complex case management and routine sexual health services.
Key responsibilities
* Provide specialist HIV and GUM care, including complex STI management and follow-up
* Undertake comprehensive sexual health assessments, testing and treatment
* Deliver HIV testing, counselling and results in a sensitive, non-judgemental manner
* Contribute to prevention strategies including PrEP, vaccination and health promotion
* Support nurse-led services and offer expert clinical advice to colleagues
* Participate in teaching, audit and continuous service improvement

* Provide medical support and advice to nurse led clinics
* Develop skills in line with the changing needs of the service
* Take part in audit, research and training as appropriate
Qualifications & Registration
* Full GMC registration
* Experience in HIV and GUM/Sexual Health
* Knowledge of BASHH guidelines and evidence-based practice
* Excellent communication and patient-centred approach

Qualifications & Training
* Full registration and licence with the General Medical Council (GMC)
* For sexual health specialty BASHH registered trainer or willingness to undertake training
* For reproductive health specialty FSRH registered trainer or willingness to undertake training
* For sexual health specialty diploma in GUM
* For reproductive health specialty diploma in FSRH
Experience
* Significant post registration experience within the Sexual Health, HIV or Reproductive Health/Contraception specialties or equivalent
* Experience of providing contraceptive, sexual and reproductive healthcare delivery
* Experience of and exposure to clinical issues relating to women’s health
* Experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology or General Practice
Knowledge & Skills
* Good understanding of clinical governance and quality outcomes
* Good IT skills and working knowledge of clinical electronic patient record systems, emails and Microsoft packages
* Working knowledge of contraception and issues relating to contraception and young people (Fraser guidance)
* Participation in audit and research projects
