Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Dispenser/Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves supporting pharmacists in dispensing medications, providing excellent patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of pharmacy services. The ideal candidate should have prior experience working in a pharmacy setting which is desirable, however, on the job training can also be provided for those with no experience. Must have a passion for delivering compassionate patient support. Duties
* Assist the pharmacist with dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently
* Manage medication stock levels, including ordering and inventory control
* Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean and organised
* Support administrative tasks such as data entry and appointment scheduling
* Be confident in dealing with the public with great commitment to customer care and providing health care advice and services over the counter.
* Work on the front counter and in the dispensary
* Ensure smooth running of the dispensary
* Check stock against invoices
* Show good dispensing and organisational skills
* Be able to answer the phone to deal with patient queries
* Be able to make up compliance aid boxes for patients
* Sell over the counter medication
* Be confident in ordering prescriptions, liaising with GP practices, completing paperwork and working IT systems. (Training on IT system will be provided onsite)
* Work both as part of a team and independently
Skills
* Prior experience as a pharmacy dispenser/technician or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is desirable but not compulsory
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
* Good understanding of pharmacy software systems and record keeping standards
* Compassionate approach to patient care with a focus on confidentiality and professionalism
* Good listening skills for dealing with patient queries over the phone.
