2 SUPPORT WORKERS REQUIRED FOR A NEW SERVICE STARTING.
DRIVER ESSENTIAL DUE TO RURAL LOCATION.
15HRS PER ROLE, MAY BE FLEXIBLE. REF 01/LW/CS
As part of this role you will be required to complete a disclosure Scotland application. You will be on a six-month probationary period. The employment will be fully contracted. Hours to be discussed on interview.
References will be required and followed up before employment commences.
6 month probation applies and in the post you will be issued with a contract of employment.
2 Support Workers are required to support a young man with additional support needs within his own home and out with at times. This is a new service and will be set up to support the young man transition into his newer independent phase of life. Hours will be discussed on interview and flexibility would be advantageous in this role.
There is a mobility vehicle available to use for trips to town and the cinema. (there are some restrictions on age with motability and insurance, this will also be discussed on interview.)
The caring young man lives in a loving family home and is looking for some support with full personal care and showering and dressing, washing and dressing. Choice and freedom on what the young man wants to wear should be encouraged.
Moving and assisting would be part of this role and the young man uses a wheel chair. There are adaptations that support in this, including a hoist. Experience with this would be helpful.
Light food prep will be required and prompting for meal times to ensure a healthy and regular appetite is met. Hydration is important and your role would be to make sure the young man stays hydrated. The family and the young man will be able to advise on this.
The young man will require support to attend college one day a week and this may fall into your rota, he requires support to socialize and retain his place within his community.
A fun loving and humorous young man he is looking to be supported into his own independence in life. He has two small terrier dogs and enjoys spending time playing around with them in the garden in the warmer months. The young man does require prompting in keeping his room tidy and free from trips and hazards.
As this is a new service, you as a support on the point of setting up can have an added input as to how the service will play out and continue with the family. The family are fairly flexible and value good quality support the ensure their son has the best support he can.
The young man's hobbies are going to the cinema and using computer games, watching TV and having a good laugh. There are times the young man like to spend some time on his own and enjoys his own company.
