The successful candidate will: • Have recent and relevant training or experience of working in an early years setting. • Have effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. • Works well with others. • Able to work effectively with individual and groups of children • Have high expectations of learning and achievement for all children. • Monitor, record and report on pupil’s attainment under the direction of the teacher • Support the development and implementation of appropriate behaviour management strategies to anticipate and manage behaviour constructively, promoting self- control and independence. Interact with pupils in ways that support the development of their ability to think and learn independently. • Ability to develop strong and respectful relationships with parents and carers. Promote inclusion of all including those with SEND. • Be able to effectively model and extend children’s language and vocabulary. • Assist pupils with personal hygiene and welfare, including physical and medical needs whilst encouraging independence. • Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of pupils in nursery. • Organise and manage an appropriate learning environment and resources. Calculation of term time only plus two weeks’ pay Term time only plus two additional weeks’ pay is calculated on the basis of the following: • Number of ‘teaching’ weeks – 38 weeks; plus • Public (bank) holidays – 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus • Two additional weeks, inclusive of CPD – 2 weeks; plus • Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days) Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 32 days annual leave.
